Frigate birds belong to the family Fregatidae, large, with long wings (can reach 2.3 metres) and forked tails. Male frigatebirds are black with a patch of red skin at the throat, which they inflate to attract females during the mating season. females have a white underbelly.Frigate birds do not swim. average life span: 30-40 years.
